Here is the snow particle effect, that I worked on inside the tutorial.

What I change:

Dispersal: This particle go's in and out inside the sphere. It changes into 2 colors.

Imagine a frozen city in a famous place in Japan. Long ago the city was hit by a snow storm destroying the town. after the destruction the city was covered in ice. Few years later Tokyo became a ice race track with its broken down roads and the famous city scape.

Welcome to Death Eater. This map contains man eating block monsters, who would eat you alive. These block monsters would come down with there  huge teeth trying to eat you. Your job is to reach the golden coin in the other side.

When I made this map I made it challenging for the player to survive this huge teeth monster eater. This map contains lots of moving spiky block monsters, that move down. There eyes glow: blue, yellow, and red. When they glow yellow it mean warning ( its about to drop). While dropping there eyes turn red and finally when they recover going up it turn blue.

Image that you were inside a volcano but suddenly the volcano was about to erupt. You must find away out of this maze as fast as possible before its to late.

This map takes place in Hawaii where you are trying to escape out of a volcano, that is about to explode. You need to jump  lot to get over certain obstacles and avoid the lava that is rising up from below.

◦ How does the level layout contribute to the tutorial?


The layout of the game is in 2D. It has many large and small platforms that
the player’s

character can walk on. Some of them are floating in the air and
there is a wide stream of

water at the bottom of the screen in the center.

 
 
◦    How is the pacing and flow managed to keep the player challenged but 
not bored?


The challenge in the game is to pop all the enemy’s balloons and make it 
to the next

level. Note: there is no time limit in this game. Each time you 
take down an enemy you

get points. Each point is added to the player’s 
high score in the game. The game gets

harder as the player completes 
each level by the fact that more enemies are added into the

game as the 
game continues. Also, they added a bonus round to keep the player 
interested

and challenged. 
 


◦    How much is left to the player to figure out on his own vs. how much is 
handed to

him?
 Well, it took me only one round to understand the objective in the game 
because I

noted the tutorial in the main menu before pressing “Start”.
The game uses a joystick or a

controller to “RUN” the game and by 
pressing “A” allows the player’s character to fly

from one platform to 
another platform in the game.  Since it's a “balloon popping fighting

game” 
the player’s objective is to take down as many enemy balloons. NOTE: At 
the

beginning, it was very hard to understand how to take down the 
enemy’s balloons, but as

I continued to play, I found out that you had to 
pop them from above in order to pop the

enemy’s balloon. You also 
needed to hit them on the ground/platform.


 
◦    What kind of obstacles are presented to the player?


The game had different numbers of enemies within each level. As each 
level was

completed, more and more enemies appeared faster throughout 
the game. The other

obstacles that could “kill the player’s character” in 
the game were the environmental

factors: the clouds, the water and the 
objects attached to the platforms. The clouds could

shoot lightning and hit 
your character. The water was dangerous because it could drag

your 
character down.  The water also hid dangerous creatures because a huge 
fish could

suddenly jump out of no where and swallow up your character. 



The objects on and below

the platforms could be lethal too, if your 
character happened to bump into them.  On the

other hand, the bubbles 
were the “good” environmental objects. The bubbles gave you

extra points 
to add to your score. There were also unknown balloons that added

more 
extra points to your overall score and gave extra life in the bonus round.
    

 
◦    How do they ramp up the difficulty as the tutorial advances?


The difficulty in this game increases as each level is completed. It will get 
harder and harder for the player to win the game.



◦    What kind of positive and negative feedback is given to the player?


I think it is a relatively a simple game that gives positive feedback early in 
the game by allowing you to easily complete the beginning levels.  It hooks
you into believing that the game is easy, but in fact, as one moves up the 
levels, the degree in difficulty accelerates. I noted that it was harder to 
control the balloons in the air with my controller. There were more 
enemies, more dangerous environmental obstacles and a faster pace in 
the game as I completed each level. This increased my chances of my 
character being killed.

 How many times would my character be killed?  
How many times would I have to start over to complete the level to win the 
game?

 This is the negative feedback given to the player as the player 
moves up in the levels. 
 
   

How is the story integrated (if any)?
There was no story integrated into this game.

The Ten books

The ten books

The ten books I would choose would be Sword Art Online, Shokugeki no Soma, Hunger Games, Maze Runner, Percy Jackson books, Ready Player One, Naruto, Ender Games, Hobbit, and Harry Potter.

Sword Art Online is a novel, anime and Manga / graphic novel. The story moves around a character name Kirito.  He is trapped in a game with many players. He tries to find a way out of the game and tries to save people lives through out the story.

Shokugeki no Soma is an anime and Manga/ graphic novel. It tells about this middle school kid going to a top cooking school. His goal is to be in the top 10 best cooking people. He faced many challenges in a cooking battle but manages to win.

Naruto is an anime / graphic novel. This is about a young kid named, Naruto. He is  trying to be the best Ninja and reach his goal to be Hokaga. However, his goal is surrounded by many bad situations around him. Eventually, he manages to overcome all of them.

Ender’s Game is a novel book and a movie.  The book talks about a kid named Ender. He is persuaded to join the  military academy in space. Here he trains with other kids to fight a war in space because of an alien invasion.Where other kids must fight for war in space because of an imminent alien invasion.

Hunger Games is a book and a movie. The story talks about twelve different districts who send their two best people to participate in the Hunger Games.  The story revolves around a girl character named Katniss Everdeen. This story tells about 12 different districts. Each year they celebrate the annual hunger games. The Hunger  Games take place because there is no war but peace.  Each district’s best two people fight in this arena by giving up there lives for their district. Each district has a specific job to do in the government.  District 12 encompasses a poor town where the main character lives and hunts to survive. Katniss and other districts try to stop District 1 from governing them.

Maze Runner is a movie and a book. The story centers around a kid name Thomas. He was placed in this huge maze with other kids. In the story the main character and the other kids try to find a way out of the maze.  Unfortunately, there are creatures that roam the maze at night and the kids learn to outsmart them.

Percy Jackson is a movie and a book.  The story uses Greek mythological characters to tell the story.  This book inspired be because one of the scenes makes Percy challenge the Greek Gods.

Harry Potter was one of my first books to read.  It is about a boy named Harry Potter who was very famous because he defeated the dark lord a long time ago. This story takes place in an alternate world in England., mystical creatures and  There are wizards, mystical creatures and many magically gifted people in this story.

Hobbit is a movie and book. It is a fantasy story life about a guy name Bilbo Baggins. Ho is a Hobbit. One day a group of dwarves came to his house in need of his help to take them back to their there home land. This story used many different races  to create a fascinating book.

Ready Player One is one of my favorite books that I read this year.  It talks about a virtual reality world. I liked the virtual reality in this book  because it is similar to the Sword Art online because of its story line.

The voice for Magerbs

Magrebs’ voice in the story was like a train without a conductor.  She would keep yapping until she tried to stop. She would brag and then would angry. She would be bossy until her husband arrived.  She would worry about him. She is stubborn and impatient like a child in this story. She speaks in a low voice with very few words to say. It sometimes would be unintelligible for her, too.
